Monday note 9-20-10

General
I will not be in class this Friday. Mrs. Lojewski will be my substitute. I will going to Missouri to attend my nephew's wedding on Sat. This is the weekend of the 125th celebration. I sent home a note today about asking any school children who will be attending church at 11:00 am on Sunday to come and sing the "Big Fish" song. Please return the bottom portion of the note if your child wants to participate. This Wed. we are participating in the "See You at the Pole" program by having chapel outside in the back instead of the flag pole. You are welcome to come.
We will be going into church after it to practice the "Big Fish" song.

Work
First of all I want to apologize for not getting your child's papers graded this past week. It was a very busy week with preparations for the 9th grade retreat, grading just didn't get done. I plan to work diligently this week to get caught up so they can be returned and to get them on fast direct. Thank you for your patience and understanding. This Friday's memory is 2 Tim. 3:15 on page 13. There will be a spelling test on Friday and they should get their list on tomorrow. There will be our first math test in my class tomorrow. After that there will be a test after every 5 lessons. The test will be on the concepts in lessons 1-5. There are no other tests this week we are working our way through the Introduction in Social Studies, the first chapter in Science and the chapter on sentences in English.

Sports
Soccer has to change their Tues practice to Wed at the same time. There also is a practice on Thurs. Volleyball has a home game Tues and an away game on Thurs. There also is practice on Wed.

Other
There is a dress down day on Friday. Sports is the theme, wear something for your favorite sport team. It is a pay dress down day. $1 for a sporty top and $1 for jeans on the bottom. You can do both items for $2 or just one item for $1 or no items for free - that means wear regular dress code. I think that is all for today.

In His Service,
Deanna Hollrah
