Monday note 10-11-10

General
Thank you for the quick response to the midterms. I got most of them back today. If you haven't yet signed the cover sheet please do that by Friday. The midterm sheet is for you to keep. Some of the grades will change this week because of the tests we took last week. All 3 tests have been graded and returned today. For tests I want to make sure you see all tests for English, Social Studies and Science. Therefore, you are to sign the test and return it or sign a note verifying you saw the test and you can keep the test. This needs to be done within one week from when the test was returned to your child. You can put several tests on one note if you wish. For instance the 3 tests that came home today can be signed or one note written and turned in. They are due by next Monday. I do not have you sign math tests because we have so many of them that you would be signing all of the time and I couldn't keep up with checking on it.
Starting Oct. 13 to Oct. 27 the school is collecting items for hygiene kits for the Family of God mission. Each class is assigned one item and they are asking each student to bring in one of that item. Our item is a regular size bar of bath soap.
Work
Friday's memory is John 8:31-32 found on page 33. They should be half way through the Monthly Memory by the end of this week if they don't want a rushed end of the month time. We have no tests this week but we may be done with Social Studies sometime next week. I will explain the book report on Wed. as to how to do it.
Sports
It is a busy week for sports. There was a soccer game today, there is another soccer game on Wed. and it is at home. Soccer also has another home game next Mon. If we don't have a faculty meeting, the soccer players can stay in the room until their game. I don't know about practices, I have received no information, hopefully you or your child knows. Volleyball has an away game on Tues. and a home game on Thurs. and I again, I don't know about practices.
Other
A couple of things coming up. I and the 5th grade will be presenting chapel next Wed. Remember you are invited to all chapels. We will be doing baptismal birthdays for Oct. at the that chapel because we have a special chapel the following Wed. That Wed., Oct. 27, is the Reformation service with 3 other visiting schools. Next Sunday is the special presentation in church on the prophecies of Jesus. I don't have the details here with me, but I heard him when he did the Gospel of John a couple of years ago at Mt. Clemens High School. He is very good and interesting, so you may want to check the details on that in the Leader or the Church Information sheet. The 5th graders could get something from it also. That is all I can think of at this time.
In His Service,
Deanna Hollrah
