Monday note 10-18-10

General
The end of the first quarter is next Friday. It also is the last day of the month so late, absent and other missing work needs to be in as well as book reports and monthly memory. We are collecting soap through Wed. Oct. 27. The field trip for writing is on Thurs. Some permission slips are still out and I need drivers. There will be a dress down day for Covenant House on Friday Oct. 29 and the 8th graders are selling cookies at 2 for 50 cents. All proceeds from the dress down day and the cookies will go to Covenant House. Fifth grade is NOT doing chapel Wed., the Impact Mission project about Malawi is sharing the message about that mission outreach. The 3 tests from last week were to be signed or a note by today, send them in if you have not done so. There is no school on Friday, the staff is attending a teachers' conference at Lutheran High North.

Work
There is no Friday memory since we won't have school on Friday. That is also true for spelling on Friday. There will be a Social Studies test on Thurs for chapter 1. There will probably be a Science test next week some time on chapter 2.

Sports
The last volleyball game is tomorrow and the last practice was today. Watch for information about returning your uniforms. Soccer had a game today and has practice this week but I don't know when. They still have a game next week. 5th and 6th basketball starts right after soccer is over. Both the boys and girls will play their season before Christmas break. There will be cheerleading also. The cheerleaders cheer for the boys. The girls will play the first game on game days and the boys play the second game. Practice dates and such have not been determined but there will be little time in between the sports. The game dates are online under schedules on the web page I believe.

Other
I can't think of anything at this time. Check the Trinity Leader for other information. Also check for owes your child may have. Those have to be paid before report cards are issued to your child. That is it for this week.

In His Service,
Deanna Hollrah
